HI,
I'm new here and this is my first post. I have read ~ 97% of the
postings on the board and I remember one where eneryone was having a
good laugh at the cz101/1000 preset sound #16 (percussion), even
going so far as to question whether anyone has ever actually used
this sound. I have to agree that it is a pretty pathetic percussion
sound, however I have found it to be very useful over the years. Ii
your post above you say that you are particularly looking for clap
sounds among others. I have found this #16 sound to be an excellent
handclap sound if used in a particular way. First off you need to
add the appropriate EFX (reverb or delay to taste). Then you strike
4 keys at once. All 4 keys in close proximity to each other (all
minor 2nds and a few major 2nds if they were pitched sounds). Do
this in the range where the highest pitch is ~ the 'C' one octave
below the top note on the keyboard and where the bottom note is ~
the 'G' below that. You can repeat these exact pitches for a more
static electronic type sound or you can vary the pitches (but keep
within the 6-7 note range) for a more human/organic sound. also
if you play this sound with both hands spread over the middle of the
keyboard and quickly strike random keys you can get a pretty
good "synthesized applause" sound. (Good for a laugh at those gigs
where the late crowd hasn't come in yet and you feel like you are
playing for the other ppl in the band ;)
Also ... greetings to all my fellow casio junkies on here,
Frank
