The CZ (101/1000/3000/5000) will only play 5 octaves via MIDI note numbers 36-96. It will respond to all MIDI note numbers 0-127 but will fold the octaves over after the "C" note 96, and below the "C" note 36. So the octave that will fold over depends on the 6 octave controller you are using. The CZ (101/1000/3000/5000) oscillators have a greater range, more than 10 octaves. From a very high "C" to sub-audio clicking using the octave 0, -1, +1, and for DCO 2 detune +/- 3 octaves. The CZ-1 is the only CZ to play a 7 octave range via MIDI notes.
