Control

2002-04-19 by rgabriel@myway.com.br

As we all know, the CZ (101/1000) has a 4 octave keyboard, but works with 6 octaves (Octave 0, -1, +1).

Question: With a 6 octave MIDI controller connected in the CZ, how many octaves will work?

Thanks

I believe that the full 6 will work. I have a CZ-1000 midied up to my stuff.

The CZ (101/1000/3000/5000) will only play 5 octaves via MIDI note
numbers 36-96. It will respond to all MIDI note numbers 0-127 but
will fold the octaves over after the "C" note 96, and below the "C"
note 36. So the octave that will fold over depends on the 6 octave
controller you are using. The CZ (101/1000/3000/5000) oscillators
have a greater range, more than 10 octaves. From a very high "C" to
sub-audio clicking using the octave 0, -1, +1, and for DCO 2 detune
+/- 3 octaves.
The CZ-1 is the only CZ to play a 7 octave range via MIDI notes.
