if you have the originals rubber pads i can restore for you you're right these are hard to find and have a shallower velo then the note
its a shame to suggest but might be time to make the cz1 a midi module!
or if you are technical swap out the whole keys and utilze a new one ..if you can be so electronically inclined
last chance maybe a cz5000 model has similar contacts ..or the fz1??????

Hi,
I have a Casio CZ1 which has inconsistent velocity volume on certain keys and on closer inspection (opened it up!) I found that some of the rubber pads have been replaced with ones of the same depth and from another synth. By depth I am referring to the depth of the rubber dome.
On the CZ 1 the rubber strips come in a double block of 16 or so contacts which are much the same in shape and size to bubble wrap. The ones at the front of the keys are not as deep as the ones at the back which helps to give a better velocity range.
Does anyone have any or can tell me where I can find some of these rubber contact strips for my CZ1 ? I intend to restore it back to its former glory and this is the only problem left to sort out.
I contacted Casio and a few other websites but I have not been able to locate any of these
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated
Jonathan
