I was going to mention what I had noted on the CZ 1000 - when switched off without any power backup the pitch defaults to a high pitch as the pitch bender data (I think) is corrupted - the result is similar symptoms to those described here for the CZ1 - rolling the bender (I think) or carrying out the reset procedure puts it all correct. Whether or not it is relevant to this problem,it's a tad odd that the unit does not default to a playable state. I presume there is a CR2032 hanging about in there with no juice left as the 101 doesn't do this, unless it has non-corruptable memory? The initialization procedure is the first port of call I think. Like the same key in each octave, or every fourth or so? - The sound is always the same pitch or changing randomly? - Which pitch is it, how high? - Is it in the same timbre as other keys playing normally, or some different timbre? - Is it the same on all sounds (memories)? - Is it the same with preset memories? - Does all the other functions and parameters on synthesizer work? - Have you tried initialization function? - Are you sure power supply is OK and all voltages on spec? Have you done recapping? There can be more questions...
