Re: [CZsynth] Beginner

After comparing owner's manual I see I was wrong... It's many years when I had CZ101, CZ1000, VZ10M and VZ1... Last few years I have again CZ, this time CZ3000, so I was confused.

With cartridge it is so (if I understand well):
CZ1/101/1000 has direct access to the sounds on the cartridge. Cartridge expands number of onboard sounds. It's possible to write only one sound program to the cartridge memory locations, or to Save or Load whole bank of sounds. CZ1 has also possibility to exchange one selected sound on the cartridge with the same location sound in internal RAM.

CZ3000/5000 doesn't have direct access to the sounds stored on cartridge, cartridge is used only for backup of internal RAM (Save) and data saved on the cartridge must be loaded into RAM to be used.

Are you sure about it?

AFAIK cartridge on CZ can't expand a number of directly accessible sounds. It serves only for saving data from internal RAM.

Of course after saving internal data to cartridge we can load other data from the other cartridge, or fill the memory by sending SysEx file. When we want to return data saved on the cartridge, it's possible but internal data are erased by this.

VZ is different, sound programs on its RAM card are directly accessible, so card expands total number of sounds.
