Hi John,
 First you should do a little trouble shooting.
What you describe could just be scrambled patches.
Try the organ patch again, then hold the "Initalize"
red button on the upper right hand panel, while again
entering the patch number. (E-1, or whatever). This will 
temporarily write the original sound stored in ROM from  
that patch location.
 If the sound is now right, you can do a system reset to 
restore the factory patches. This is done by powering on 
the CZ-1 while holding down the "Initalize" button. Then 
while still holding the button down, pressing the "Yes"
button. All patches on a CZ-1 are stored in RAM and if 
the battery gets week, these can get scrambled. The sounds
you have described, could simply be the settings of the 
envelope generators. Especially if the sounds are sustaning
after releasing the keys.  
 If the test for scrambled patches does not remedy the 
problem, the relay in the amplifier board may be at fault.
This can be replaced by any tech.
