Pete's Web-based VZ Editor

2015-03-08 by smw-mail@...

Since he has been unable to post himself, Pete asked me to announce the availability of his editor-in-progress. I have tested it myself and have provided feedback. Keep in mind it is still very much in progress. Below are some excerpts from e-mails he has sent.

14 Feb 2015:

As I announced, there is still work in progress and I first concentrated on the technical feasibility of the task and on how to boil down 440 parameters to a manageable number.

The VZ Editor is a browser based tone editor for the Casio VZ 1 / 10 m and Hohner HS/2. For low level midi functionality the ‘jazz-plugin’ needs to be installed from http://jazz-soft.net/ and needs to be activated in your browser.

Once you have installed and activated the plugin you may open the editor page in your browser. The Jazz plugin will most probably be blocked, when you enter the page the first time (usually indicated by a red ‘X’ in the address line of your browser). Ensure that the usage of the plugin is allowed for the VZ Editor.

From then on you may start to compose your sound. To transfer your sound to your VZ select the midi connection at the upper right and then click on the transmit button.

7 Mar 2015:

Hi all,

I have decided to publish the current project to all interested parties, so they can put it to use and maybe provide feedback for further development.

So the link may be spread.

I tried to announce this in the mail thread in the group, but somehow none of my messages gets through anymore (I tried it 4 times, but the reply to the thread just is not posted :( )

If any one of you could spread it in my name, that would be great.

Even though it is a web based browser, I do not save any information

(sounds) which is processed through the app.

Kind regards, and thanks,

Pete
