I don't know how much space is inside CZ1000, but probably it is possible. I have changed display in my CZ3000, it was OK. Display has HD74480 standard. From the schematics it looks like the display has no EL backlight, there's no inverter circuit. Here is some guide which I have found somewhere on the net. ---------- I suppose soldering is necessary for connecting the new display to the cable, add limiting resistor, and two cables to the PSU.
