I used to use mine as a master keyboard, and to the best of my memory, it does have a "local" control. I'll have to hook it up and see. I think it's in a menu under the "MIDI" button.

There is not a 'local
control OFF' selection in the CZ1? Electronically it
sounds like the notes from the keyboard are not being
generated, which means the scanner,or if it has a separate
crystal maybe defunct.
Do the buttons,when
pressed still generate MIDI program changes?

No Sound – Not Relay?
Hi,
My
CZ-1 just stopped working. When I power the synth on, the
output relay pops up after a few seconds, and I can hear
line noise when I turn up the volume fader. However, no
sound is produced by playing the keys, or over MIDI. LCD
screen, backlight, all buttons and leds seem to work as
normal. Any ideas?
Thanks
