Really? Maybe there's some way to go straight from the backup rom to the ram that's holding the active sound with out first storing the patch in the preset RAM. I seem to remember that the CZ-1 had a few cool tricks like that from reading the manual a while back (its been a long while back). Can't you also copy envelope settings or something too? I seem to remember being impressed by being able to do something like that too. Really though, I do almost all my CZ editing via PC so I never get to play with these CZ-1 tricks. I really really like my CZ-1, it's an awesome synth. One of my all time favorites. Just out of curiosity how many Casio's do you all have? I'll go first: CZ-1000 =My first synth CZ-5000 =Latest addition to the collection, $70 from local pawn shop so I couldn't resist. It's missing the volume slider knob though. = ( Anyone have a spare? CZ-1 =Yeah this rocks!! VZ-8m 2 VZ-10ms =I bought all the VZs new for a few $100 each, well worth it too. I love them. 1 PG-380 Midi Guitar =Cool instrument but mine needs repair as it's got the dreaded PG380 bad capacitor disease 1 MG500 Midi Guitar =Guitar I play most, its light, sounds good, plays well, looks evil and outputs MIDI to boot. DG-20 Midi Horn =LOL! MT-68 =Actually this was my first synth, it's analog too!! Actually this my first argument that analog doesn't necessarily sound good. -----Original Message----- From: Atom 'Smasher' [SMTP:atom@...] Sent: Monday, April 30, 2001 2:28 PM To: 'CZsynth@yahoogroups.com' Subject: RE: [CZsynth] (unknown) > Hey that's an even better description than mine!! Hahaha...maybe it's time to initialize that puppy > and take an instant time trip back to 1985!!! 1985 here I come........ ------------------------------------------------------ the cz-1 can recall the presets without erasing the user memory.... i forget how to do it, but it's in the manual. basically, the cz-1 is like 64 factory sounds, ~AND~ 64 user sounds. ...atom ----------------Void-If-Detached---------------- http://smasher.suspicious.org/fs1r Yamaha FS1R http://smasher.suspicious.org/m6 Oberheim Matrix 6 "There's enough on this planet for everyone's needs but not for everyone's greed" -- Mahatma Gandhi To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to: CZsynth-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com Your use of Yahoo!
