CZ cart schematic uploaded

CZ cart schematic uploaded

2002-09-29 by Terry

Hi Everybody,
Just uploaded some schematics for an RA-3 and a DIY cart.
They can be found in the "CZ docs" file section.
The RA-6 is backward compatible with the other CZ synths.
Although it has the capacity to hold 64 CZ-1 patches and
64 operation memories, it doesn't seem to mind holding
only the 16 patches for the CZ-101/1000. I haven't tried
the RA-6 on my CZ-3000 yet, but I would imagine it would
also work just fine.

anyone wanna trade RAM carts?

2002-09-29 by Atom 'Smasher'

i've got a "Maartists MusicPak CZ" RAM cart.

it holds 4 banks of 16 patches. it uses 2 slide switches to select between
the 4 banks.

this cart will hold 64 pathes for any CZ synth with a card slot... i think
they all have the slot.

anyway, i'd like to do an even swap for an RA-6 (or clone) that can hold
the data that is unique to the CZ-1.

if anyone is interested, please contact me off list.

Nice. And thanyou for finding and uploading these files. It saves a
lot time for having not to reverse engineer existig cartridge.

Anyone having schematic for RA-6 ??

Joanna

(note.. some electronics technobabble coming up)

Connection is really easy. Allthough that battery connection makes me
wonder what will happen if my CZ-101 does not have backup batteries in
it.. Will it use Card Battery instead (looks like that?)

That TTL was for inverting CS and WE sigals.. quite unique system,
usually those are active low on all systems.

Havign 2 srams makes me wonder.. I think it's safe and more convinient
to replace them with one bigger as all current ones are much much
bigger then 2k*8 used on that design.

Anyone having idea how RA-6 differs to RA-3 ... my assumption is that
it's having more address lines connected so it's using biggeer area of
memory to store all data? And, that it may have some way to identify
it to (like that diode form pin 11 to pin 3 on these schemas)

That anoter WE signal (pin4)is a bit strage.. it's not used on those
cards though.
