hello/casio cz1 patch transmit

2003-02-15 by vynloverdrive <vynloverdrive@yahoo.com>

hi, i just bought a casio cz1 a few weeks ago, so i'm new to the
board and figured i'd introduce myself: my intrests in music vary
widely, i'll listen to pretty much anything as long as it's origional
and creative, but there's always been a warm place in my heart for
industrial. i bought the cz1 mostly to contrast my main synth,
korg's ms2000, because i heard it reviewed as 'strange, metallic,
thin and unusual' but i'm having a bit of trouble with it. my main
question right now is how do i transmit patches? i mostly want to
back up what's on there right now before i mess it up too badly by
storing it on my pc, but i can't seem to figure it out. if it
matters, i'm running windows 2000 and cakewalk sonar, which has a
casio cz1000 request but dosn't seem to do anything. thanks.

Hi,

if your CZ-1 is filled with the original presets it's quite easy to
restore the sounds be simply pressing init and selecting the sound so
you don't have to be afraid to lose those sounds.
Other than that there's no need to send a request from the sequencer
since you can start a sysex dump directly from the synth. Anyway, I
would recommend you to use one of the free patch editors or
librarians out there, the link section of this list should help you
to find them...
