That's not so simple as you cannot send your data to the computer and then
send
them back to the CZ anytime - they differ. You have to know which byte to
modify,
and I do not think you can automatize it with a sequencer. It is such a
quaint format!

Newbie - bank editor etc? What should I get?

2003-02-19 by buntinp_uk <buntinp_uk@yahoo.co.uk>

Hi. I've just dusted off my old CZ-5000 and brought it into my MIDI
setup (currently a PC with Yamaha DB50XG, USB-MIDI controller, Roland
FP-3 Digital Piano). Unfortunately I'm not sure what I should do to
get the most out of my old synth. I've see files with programming
patches in, but dont know how to get these into the synth.

I got my synth about 18 years ago (can it be that long?!) as a school
kid. It was amazing at the time, but since then I've forgotten about
it until now. I'm sure it can bring something to my setup, if only I
can make the best use from it. I've also got the Casio drum machine
(was it a RZ-1?) - which I guess could also come in useful?

Any advice/comments/pointers for a newbie? It would be most welcome!

Many thanks,
    Pete.

I have had a little success with a program called "sound lib".

I have an old CZ-1000 and I could only get it to load one bank.

The 5000 might be able to use cakewalk. That is what I would like to use to
get my synth to load sysx files.

I found Sound lib through the synth zone. I will warn you, the program is
just about as old as your synth.
