CZ-101 patch editor with 'rubber band' envelopes
2003-08-14 by Alan Probandt
Hello CZ users group,
I have a home-brew CZ-101 editor for MS-DOS that I
would like to share.
It has 'vector editing' - in other words, to
change the envelopes for the DCO, DCF, or DCA, you
click on a bend point of the envelope and move the
mouse.
The display of the envelope follows the mouse
('rubber-bands'). A second click freezes the envelope
shape and sends the new sys-ex data to the CZ-101.
All of the other CZ parameters are editable also.
I wrote this in Turbo C 2.01 (which is now
freeware on the web - thanks to Borland Inc.) about
ten years ago but never could find anyone else
interested in it. I'm including the source code in
Turbo C. It works fine on an MPU-401 (address
330/331h) with Windows 98,95,3.1,or MSDOS. (but not
XP, ME, or 2000). It writes directly to the MIDI port
addresses and that doesn't seem to work correctly with
the emulated MPU-401 found on the joystick connector
of common sound cards.
To get this editor (about 88K for .exe file and
source) either send me an e-mail or (better) suggest a
web site location that I can upload it to.
Thank you,
alan_probandt@...
