Casio FZ-10M

2003-10-25 by rabbirabbi5

Hello there, this is a little off-topic but since I can't find
a discussion group for the casio FZ, here goes...

1. Does anyone know how to build the PC parallel port
to FZ cable?

Thanks, rabbirabbi5

Casio FZ-10M

2004-12-19 by Joshua

Hi all! I just got today a never used (looks like never used, inside-
out, but the guy told me the floppy doesn't work) sampler and need
some info on that. It has a SCSI-looking interface on the back and
it says external port. I have an Ensoniq EPS 16+, Akai S3000i, and a
Syntec 2 CD 2 HD SCSI interface (rack). I also have a Phillips
external SCSI cd device drive, and a SCSI hard disk in an Apple
case.
Q:
1. Can I connect anything of that to this sampler to make it store
samples/synth patches?
2. I read it has additive sythesis and waveforms? Can I use those
without the floppy?
3. OS load: floppy, rom, ram or SCSI? (I'm not sure I want to plug
it in, until I connect a right floppy or the non-working one (now
unplugged) - just paranoid like that, since I almost burned the EPS
when I connected the SCSI cable to the flash rom interface.... it
looked the same, the cables fit... but..... :))

Thanks, Josh

Here's a instruction how to replace the the FZ-1 floppy with a standard PC
floppy, unfortunately it's in german. Try babelfish...

http://www.memi.de/makers/hwsw/basteln/fz1-disk.html

It's not an SCSI Bus but with an special cable it's possible to connect the FZ to
the printer port of a PC...

Check those documents

http://heim.ifi.uio.no/~asbjxrn/fz/software/pc/fz-dump/

I hope Phono will read this... he's working with such a cable...

yep - working with such a cable is very nice! You´ll need a pc with
correct configuration, printerport and of course you have to build
such a cable. Make sure you check out all documentaries on the net.
read more about fzdump here:
http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/2163/fzsample.html
http://synthedit.com/fzdump.htm

or try google for more...
