My thanks for the group

My thanks for the group

2003-11-09 by Victor Palmidor

Hi :
I^m Cacho I`m from Rosario , Argentina. My english is very poor , so sorry .
I `m guitarrist , but I love synths and I have a CZ-1. I interested in progressive rock and to make sounds. I`m composer and I like analogic sounds to make music. Jobson , Emerson , Hammer , Corea , are my favourites , but there are hundreds.
Nice to belong to the group.
Anybody can tell me where are CZ-1 records and musicians who use it?
Write you later. Thanks
Good Bye

I don't know of anyone who specifically used the CZ-1 but I know Vince
Clarke was a big fan of the CZ-101. Also I saw a CZ-101 in the Salt 'n'
Pepa video "Push It", alongside a DX7. And I heard The Crystal Method used
them a lot. According to the vintagesynth.com pages for all the CZ synths,
users include Cirrus, Moby, Jimi Tenor, Vince Clarke, They Might Be Giants,
Eat Static, The Orb and Jean-Michel Jarre. But those listings aren't
necessarily accurate.

Beyond Jean Michell Jarre , anybody knows some progressive keyboardist
(or something similar)who use Casio? I think I saw Eddie Van Halen
video clip with a great Casio in the middle of eighties. ¿was it real
or just imagination?
Please someone to confirm.
I´m in a cibercafe , but in a little time I will to intend to upload
my patches. Are there a special format to do?
Thanks

Most of the big names in the 80's used the more expensive analog synths as
far as I know. Oberheims and Moogs and such, and DX7s when they used
digitals. Probably someone somewhere used a Casio but it's hard to track
this kind of information down.

Though supposedly Casio built this huge Synclavier-like thing for Tomita as
a prototype for something they were planning to market. They figured no one
would buy it like that so they split it up into the CZ series synths, the
RZ-1 drum machine, and the SZ-1 sequencer. I don't know how true or
accurate that it but I heard it somewhere.

As far as I know - and I do - Vince Clarke (Erasure) used some CZ-101s.
Even though I don´t know if You would call him "progressive keyboardist"?! =
;-) I would!!!

Another one I`ve been reading about was Wolfgang Flür, who used to be membe=
r of Kraftwerk.
