HT3000 question for sealed

HT3000 question for sealed

2004-03-14 by Jonathan Furman

Hey Sealed, I love your deep synthesis page. It inspired me to check
out a HT-3000, which apart from the lack of sysx is pretty cool. I
noticed on your site that you say that the auto shut down can be
prevented via a MIDI connection. I jave mine all MIDI'd up but it's
still shutting down after a while. I'm guessing that you have to send
it MIDI clock or something. What's the secret?

Rock on with the Deep Synthesis page!!!

Hi, Jon!

Thank you for visiting my site. I'm very glad to hear you're enjoying
your HT.
When I tested HT's auto shut-down problem, I connected my Roland XP-50
with it. As you pointed out, it seems that XP's internal sequencer sent
MIDI clock endlessly that kept my HT-3000 awake.
I think it's worth trying connecting HT with a sequencer. I hope your
success!

Best,
Sealed

Awesome..that did the trick. I routed the active sensing messages
from my K5000 through to the HT-3000. The HT has been on all night so
that truly works. Plus I finally have found a use for active sensing
MIDI messages.

Congratulations!
And thanks for letting me know what active sensing is for....
