Changing battery in VZ RAM card

Changing battery in VZ RAM card

2004-08-01 by andreasgoeransson

Hi,

Does anyone know how to switch batteries in a VZ RAM card without
ripping the card apart? Do you need any special tools for it?

Thankful for any help.

Cheers,
Andreas

Hi Andreas,

I found this in the Easy VeeZee Chat Page achive
(http://www.chat-page.com/easyveezee/archive.html):

U.K. Time

Just figured out how to open the RAM card for the VZ series synths.
Along one edge, there is a hole large enough for the end of a
straightened paper clip. Pushing the paper clip in will allow the
battery holder to come out the top edge.

The problem is that just replacing the battery isn't enough. The card
isn't being recognized for formatting. I assume it requires some
button-pressing sequence for resetting prior to formatting, like the
old DX7 cards.

Does anyone know what the sequence is for the Casio RAM card?

bye, M!cha

Hi M!cha,

Thanks for the tip! I've replaced the battery now but the VZ will
still not recognize the RAM card. I've tried the tips on the VeeZee
chat page but so far no success.

Anyone who knows how to get the VZ to find the card so I can format
it?

(The VZ-10M is new to me and I don't have the manual...)

Thanks,
Andreas
