This is not entirely true. There are two options other than pressing
the bank switch button. Both involve using a simple sysex command.
(1) Via sysex, you can send a bank switch command. (I may have
posted how to do this a few months ago.)
F0 44 03 00 7n 51 dd F7
where
dd = 20 = PST1
dd = 21 = PST2
dd = 40 = INT
n = channel # - 1
(2) Also, you can set up the VZ-8m so that patch change commands 64-
128 call up either PST1 or PST2. See MIDI DATA PROGRAM=0-127 (TOTAL-
05).
Via midi you have access to 128 patches (0-127). Normally, patch
changes 00-63 will get you the internal bank. You can send the
sysex comannd above so that program/patch changes 64-127 call up
either PST1 or PST2.
If you have a RAM card, dd = 00 - 1F is supposed to switch/call up
as 64-127 card banks. (I have never tried this as I don't have a
RAM card.)
Hope this helps.
