Has anyone been able to back up to a wave file to computer on systems
using a cassette tape dump system?

No problem (with a ROLAND JUNO 60). Just connect SYNTH.CASSETTE-OUT
with COMPUTER.LINE-IN, start record and dump and enjoy the happy
beeping dump-sound.

Record quality may be low, e.g. 8 Bit, 11Khz. Save the dump as
.wav/.mp3 file.

Somewhere in the internet there is a conversion program which
converts a RHODES chroma tape dump to a midi dump and vice versa.

  Just try it.

With the CZ-5000, I seem to recall successfully downloading and
reloading a sysex dump as a wav file. I did it just as a test. It
worked (as best as I recall). But I seem to recall that it was more
efficient to just do a straight midi sysex dump.

What are you trying to do? Why not just do a midi dump?

Some of my stuff has no midi. attempting to preserve some original
tape patchs, to digital form via wave file.

Thanks for the advice

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
