Midi Controller Capabilites question

Midi Controller Capabilites question

2005-04-22 by Michael

I have a Casio CZ1000 . I am using the midi out to a Mickokorg I want
to know if there is a way that I can use the octave up or down on the
CZ to change it on the Korg . I am running into a problem where
neither one affects the other . Such as if i hit octave up or down on
either synth it does not change the octave range on the casio . Any
help is welcome since I really dont want to go out and spend 130
dollars on an M Audio midi controller when the CZ1000 should be able
to accomplish this simple task

Hi,
It's very doubtful that it will affect the microkorg as it isn't
sending this type of midi information. If you have your CZ midi implementation
chart to hand then check what it transmits via midi. My CZ-1 can't do it so it
will probably be the same for the CZ1000. Control / Master keyboards are
designeed for this very reason. Tell me if you ever get it to work.

Cheers,
Keith..

The CZ101/1000 MIDI implementation chart is available in the
yahoogroups files area:

Control / Master keyboards are
designeed for this very reason.

So that's the difference between "General MIDI" and something less, like "Major MIDI" or "Colonel MIDI"?
