We all heard of FMheaven, FM7 ect... in VST format even Phase
Distortion VSTi but not Interactive Phase Distorion synths in VSTi.
To be honest, I think it is zero. You will find it nowhere except the
one's that are in discontinued HardWare. Please currect me if Im wrong.

Re: [CZsynth] I wish

iPD is pretty close to Yamahas FM (Phase Modulation) and there are some VSTis
synths combining FM and AM/Ringmod avaiable like Sytrus, Rhino and Digital...

...Summa

KVRAUDIO.COM just announced the release of Rob Papen's new VST
softsynth "Blue". It incorporates FM, Phase Distortion, Wave Shaping
and Subtractive Synthesis. There is a version of PC and a version for
the MAC. A demo version is available (although I was unable to
download it as yet). It is expensive at $200 but it has a very
impressive feature set. I don't know if the PD is "interactive" as in
the Casio VZ but combined with the FM and Wave Shaping you should be
able to create some unique sounds.

what would be, if thers is someone, who build maybe not an casio vz
but an casio cz style vsti, with 8stage envelopes, ring and noisemod
and most possibilities of the original and also maybe some slight
modulation extensions?
stay tuned ;-Þ

I've got casiocz emulator with 8stage envelopes, with more waves than
original, with 3-types of ring modulation and with some other nice
features not present on casio.
The only problem is that it's not VSTi (at least now). Now I'm working
on iPD stuff.

to get an idea what the hell this guy is speaking from, here are 2
external links:
a picture:
http://www.roxtar.de/synths/CZx.png
and a demo mp3
http://www.roxtar.de/synths/3cz_playing_toccata_and_fuge_in_d-moll.mp3

BUT - this synth is still under development, the final release date is
not known and not forseeable, because i work only in my small
sparetime on it.

Looks nice, but does it have a real filter or do the fake sine wave sync
thing that the CZ does?

Re: [CZsynth] Re: I wish

2005-11-02 by Boleslav Brezovsky

It has both - sine wave syns for it's unique sound and classic lp/hp/bp
2pole resonant filter.
There's hardsync too and phase stretching for further manipulation with
sound.

hi boleslav,

your project looks interesting :))
is your synth programmed in c++?
a short question - have you figured out the code for the pd osc
comletly by yourself or is there some code floating around the net?
is your synth for mac or pc?

bunc

Re: [CZsynth] Re: I wish

2005-11-04 by Boleslav Brezovsky

hi,

no, it's not written in c++, I plan to rewrite it later to c/c++ and add vst
support but right now it's writen in REBOL language and it's interpreted at
runtime, so it's not very fast. Bud it's multiplatform by nature and same
code can run on win, mac or linux. I'm not very experienced with c/c++ so
first I must gain some skill or find some help :)
Although I found some pd osc code on net, it wasn't very useful, because it
was not real phase distortion. So I sampled my CZ101, looked at the graphs
and tried to recreate original waves. Most helpful was this page on
wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phase_distortion_synthesis .

Thanks for the interest,

rebolek

Looks real good the way you constructed this synth in great detales.
I can hardly wait till it's finnished and I'm also glad to hear your
working on iPD (you can do alot with). Well thanks for sharing this.
