Question about Casio CZ-230S.

Question about Casio CZ-230S.

2005-11-28 by mikelisest

Hi for all. Well, I have a question: I go to buy my first Synth of the
CZ séries and I need to know: side-by-side with the other synths from
this série, it's a good choice? How is the tecnical information of the
Casio CZ-230S ? In front of the other CZ stuff, it have many
recourses? The sounds are very flexible? In resume: What this synth
can do??

It's a weird message, but is serious!
Thanks for any answer.

Michael.

The CZ-230S uses the same voice structure and architecture as the CZ-101/1000, but has no programming facilities - it is a preset synth. You can load new patches via MIDI sysex or from a tape dump, and you can assign sounds to be used by the onboard drum machine, but really it isn't worth considering unless you already have another CZ instrument or are happy to rely on existing sounds.

So, the cz-230s isn't programable? Strange, I think the all synths in
this serie was be manipulated... I already have a RZ-1 drum machine,
and I'm really like of your sounds and little sampler options (but
not have more of 4MB of space... and it's bad.). Well, I see a Roland
D50 for sale too. Between the two, how have more resources? And
betwwen my RZ and the 230s, what can I do? Me and my band wait for
your opinion (and the opinion of All the group, of course!)

Thanks for the help!
Michael.

Re: Question about Casio CZ-230S.

Wellll... you may have propably found it out by now, but just for
the case I'll tell you this: Technically the CZ230 can not be
programmed by pressing buttons and entering parameturs, BUT.. the
last four presets can be edited by using a synth editor program or
another CZ-x000/101 synth. It's rather a matter of transmitting
patches to preset #96-99 than pressing buttons and turning knobs on
the synth itself but changing (the last four) sounds is definately
possible.
