Casio CZ/ VZ/ FZ - Pro Series

Hi folks

I've just got my first CZ-5000 which (sadly) came without a manual.
Most of it is easy to fathom out BUT I just can't understand how you 
operate the built in sequencer !!

Could someone give a clue of the basic procedure to record a track in 
realtime?   I assume I press the sequencer button on the top left. But 
what next? Pressing the red record button in its own does nothing.

All help grapefruitly received !
