new to the cz-1000

new to the cz-1000

2006-03-30 by Karen Anson

Hi all,
We just bought a cz-1000 in a Melbourne music shop,
because it came highly recommended and sounded pretty
good. It was also cheap.
We are not big keyboard nuts, even though I play
keyboards in a couple of bands. In fact, one of the
keyboards in our band, Actor/Model, is a toy keyboard
called the 'medely'. We do have an awesome Roland
synth, the JX-3P, but as you see we are not fully au
fait with all the possibilities of a synth.

In fact, I've joined this discussion group because the
cz-1000 is being somewhat mysterious.

We don't have a manual and are having trouble tracking
one down. This means we can't figure out why the
keyboard is not tuned properly (C is somewhere between
A and Ab) and how to change it.

Can anyone help us with the manual problem - surely
there's a pdf of it somewhere on the internet?
In the meantime, if anyone could help us with the
tuning it would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Karen and Ricky

Hey Karen,

You can find the CZ1000 manual on this site:

  http://www.cosmosynthesizer.de

  Under "Hard Copy"

The transpose function is, if I remember correctly, the third grey button on the bottom left (next to the solo and tone mix buttons). I'm at work so I don't have my CZ1000 in front of me.

I have posted some stuff on the CZ1000 at:

http://gnosticrocket.blogspot.com/2006/03/gear-spotlight-part-2-casio-cz1000.html
  check it out.

  Cheers,
  Gnostic Rocket
