thanks jyrki,

I don't really know what to make of those.
It's probably not what I'm after.

It might be because of my taste of music -which is pretty much
underground techno.
And where mainly ug tech friends are discussing about synths, many want
to get as ruff and unrealistic sounds out of their boxes as possible
instead of those neat and plain "real instrument" presets..
Casios as well as Yamaha's FM synths are allready known from their
"nice" sounds.. so i was trying to make that point purposely that VZ-8M
can sound bizarre as well, not capable just those cheesy organs and nice
stings / electric piano's what their presets represents.

Summary: dont judge any machine based to just one sound programmers
work. BTW. i think that there was those preset sounds shared as mp3
files somewhere in the web too. _Those_ were dull and flat if anything.. :P

Given what you'd currently pay for a VZ8M, it's really not much of a
risk to buy one and tamper with it for a couple of months. If you
don't like it, sell it. If you do, keep it.

I find it compliments my VAs nicely, though I've never ended up using
it on a recording yet.

I think I paid under €70 for mine - from Ebay including postage.
