Casio CZ/ VZ/ FZ - Pro Series

Has anyone repaired a backlit display on a CZ-1
the display lite is out. called Casio 800-706-2534, but 
all parts discontinued. I tried emailing the EL-Foil guy in
Germany but no response yet.

Hi, I've got the same problem with my CZ-1. If you have any luck let me  know.

I replaced the backlight in my CZ-1. I bought the replacement from 
electric_sketchbook on Ebay. The seller, Sandy is in Toronto and 
although shipping can be a little slow from Canada it was a perfect 
fit. The price was right too at less than $30.00.

I replaced my CZ-1 backlight a few years ago. I followed this instruction:

Which was somewhere else at the time but this looks like the same thing.

You have to be careful, but still it was surprisingly easy. I bought the EL 
foil for about $2 but I don't remember where. It was too big so I just cut 
it to size.

Here is a site in the US that offers EL foil in tape widths about 
20mm or 1 inch wide. $7.50 per foot. Much cheaper than any Ebay 
offering. If anyone is interested I'm going to buy a 1 foot length 
and I'll have 3 strips left over to fix 3 additional backlight 
displays on a CZ-1 synth. The color is blue. Contact me here if
