VZ-10M Question

VZ-10M Question

2009-07-12 by jintegral77

Hi...

I just recently purchased a VZ-10M (and joint this group...) It seems to me like the output level of the VZ-10M is really low - not the 2.4V that the manual suggests! Does anyone have any suggestions or is this just "the way it is?" I checked and the Output Level parameter is set at 99 and the volume slider is all the way up...

any guesses for a new VZ owner?

Thanks!

Matt

I think this is just the way it is. Mine is very quiet too.

Hi, I've got the same problem, so it must be the way their made. There may
possibly be a trim pot to adjust the level internally but you'd have to
investigate.

I looked over the Service Manual for the VZ-1 and there isn't any output level control adjustment internally. Which is strange considering the CZ's have one. I suppose the gain on the output op amps could be increased by replacing the feedback resistors. For more on this research Kawai K5 output mods. The best way I found to increase the output level is to use 3 to 1 isolation transformers in reverse. For more info on this research Redsound Darkstar output mods.
Hope this helps, Fran
