New VeeZee..!!!

New VeeZee..!!!

2010-05-25 by Francois Moreau

Hi All Casio freaks !

So...let me introduce myself !!!
My name is Francois, long time user and fan of misunderstood CZ,FZ,RZ devices...!
It seems Casio had definitely no luck with its commercials in western world...
I first bought a CZ101 in a small shop in gibraltar in the late eighties. I started to use it in my van on a beach in Morocco, waiting for the waves to come. Then I invested in new coming Atari ST and that was the beginning of serious things.
Then CZ1 for velocity features
Then RZ1 because I needed drums...
Then FZ1 because of new world and sounds with sampling
I was fantasying on the "ultimate VZ" and was regularly watching over the internet.
It took me more than 18 years (age of my daughter..) to authorize myself to go for that old dream

IT IS DONE !!!

I have just bought one, perfect condition, forgotten in a garage by an aficionado whose wife draw an ultimatum ("me or your VZ" style..)

So here I am I will follow forums and gladly appreciate NEW SOUNDS (mine is empty because of battery power loss)

Kind Regards

Yes I am afraid I have had no luck with FZ and VZ - come close to an FZ a couple of times - though I have managed two CZs an RZ and SZ- can't say I am impressed with the SZ as a sequencer but the RZ is great.

Well done on the VZ!

(1) Welcome and congratulations on the VZ. (Which one do you have? I assume its not the VZ-8m.)
(2) There are plenty of VZ sounds in the overflow group--I think its called CZ-VZ files (look in the files section here for the name.) Over the past few years, Cliff has been designing new VZ sounds (and posting them). They are so much better than the factory sounds--well, at least in my opinion, but you be the judge.
(3) A few months ago I experimented with using my VZ-8m to do real-time electro music--manipulating the sound using a few CCs and AT from a usb keyboard to simulate knob-turning DIY sound modules. I have a 20 minute mp3; I can see if there's room somewhere to post it, if others are interested.

It sounds like you had very good fortune in picking up the "me or the VZ" synth!!!

Charles,

The CZ parameters and the VZ paramaters are totally different.

Therefore, the data dumps from one line will not work in the other.

For those wishing to host Mp3s - can I suggest Mediafire - an account is free and you have truckloads of space for Mp3s - with the use of a free website it is possible to create downloads of as much music as you like...or just provide the SHARE link from Mediafire which allows others access to your Mp3s.

Thanks for the kind words. I just now re-uploaded new sounds again replacing the wrong file i've once uploaded around 2 months ago. So sorry for the wrong file. Look for cliffs4.5ethno sysx file in the CZ-VZ-files group for your VZ. Im sure this is the right one and im you all will enjoy this.
