CZ3000 Problems

CZ3000 Problems

2011-07-19 by Mike

Hello all, I need a little help. I have a CZ3000 that I haven't used in a while. I'm trying to save off the internal Timbre's to a cartridge. I have 5 RA-3 cartridges. I press the cartridge key and it asks me cartridge save or load? I then respond save and is asks me bank A,B (Y/N)? So I respond Yes and it looks like it's writing to the cartridge after a couple of seconds the display says Bank A,B OK. I check it by pushing the memory Bank A key then the 1, but it just says memory A1, or A2, or A3 etc.... like nothing was written to it. I have tried several cartridges and no luck. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks.

I cannot swear to the 3000 - but the 101 and 1000 do not show anything other than the location name on the cartridge - that is the ROM based ones give a patch name in the display, but the RAM ones do not. The user storage areas INTERNAL and CARTRIDGE are listed as such - but there is no preset name. The only way to tell if a preset is saved is to play it. This may of course be different on the 3000.

This is true all the way up to the CZ5000. Only the CZ1 displays patch names from an INTERNAL or CARTRIDGE patch.

I've been wondering why many of my recent posts here in the groups have been missing or delayed by several days. Yahoo said it was a server problem and they think they have it fixed....

It must be something else. I get no sound from any of the patches I select from the cartridge. I guess it thinks it's writing to the cartridge, but it really isn't.

Have you tried physically looking at the parameter values that are stored and checking them against the original - I believe there is a COMPARE function on CZs....if the data is not the same then it maybe possible to figure out what has happened.
