CZ-230s HELP!!

CZ-230s HELP!!

2002-03-21 by darlenemccoy

I have a Casio CZ-230s and nowhere can I find any information on it.
The darned thing was given to me (without a power supply) and I can't
find what type of 9V power supply to buy, when I went to radio shack
they asked me do I want "300 watt", "500 watt" etc... I've no clue..
all the back says is "9V"... HELP!! Thank you in advance!

Only buy a 300 watt supply if you plan to use 15 of these synths
in parallel :)

Seriously, make sure the supply is AC vs DC as per markings
on the synth, the polarity (sleeve/core) is correct, and
that it is indeed 9 V.

Did you mean 300 mA or 500 mA? I can't see why you would need more than
300 milliamps. But you could just get a 500 milliamp adapter just to be
on the safe side. That'll be more than enough power for your synth.

Greetings,
Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I believe you wont hurt anything having
a power supply with more wattage than you need.
<Important>
However, make sure you have the polarity right.
My CZ1000 didn't have any polarity markings on it.
Polarity markings look, roughly, like this (+) --( o-- (-) .
Luckily, the CZ1000 takes batteries, so the guy at radio shack was able
to use the battery terminals to determine the polarity of the power
supply plug.

I seem to remember reading somthing about the 230s but I can't remember
what it was.

Make a joyful noise,

Nathan

I used to have a CZ-230s and I'm fairly certain it used the same power
pack as the CZ-101:

Model AD-5U: 9V DC 850mA output

Actually, I just looked up the spec for the CZ-230s, and it says it uses
the AD-5/AD-5E adapter. I'm not sure if that's the similar to the AD-5U
or not.

Just a thought, there is one of these up for bid on
eBay, do a search on your Casio, contact the owner and
ask him if he could give you the info off of his power
supply ............ hambug
