As Peter said - often there is a Cr2016 or similar battery in synthesizers that lasts 5 years to backup the memory - I can't swear if I saw one last time I opened up my CZ's - but I know the cartridges have them - so odds on the machines do. Yamaha also use the same system. My 1000 is certainly forgetting everything when I sw-off - I must check that out. ________________________________

Yes! Coz it doesn't have internal battery to save anything after turning the power off. Unless there's D batteries in the compartment or continuosly connected to a power supply. That's how I understand it. With my CZ101, I hot wired a 9v plug in the battery compartment since I always use an external power supply, anyway. the 9v battery usually last several months in keeping data intact. But have to check each time for battery life. jing garcia online news editor (infotech) InterAksyon.com online news portal of TV5 sent from my blackberry bb id: 26FE33D5

Not a battery failure, CZ1000, 101 & (I Think) the 3000 don't store their midi channel, I just use mine on channel 1 of each midi output of my AKAI MPC, no issues then! --- In CZsynth@yahoogroups.com, Peter Sedin <peterhksedin@...> wrote:
