Can't Get CZ-1000 to Play Sent Patches

OK, I got a used CZ-1000 on the cheap, hooked it up to my sound card's midi port, fired up CZ Sysex Editor, loaded a .syz file, sent it to the CZ and ... no change. When I hit "play" on the Editor or the CZ, I get the same sound as before. What am I missing?
