Hi Radiomicky,
wellcome to the list :)
You found the right forum ;) I originally founded this group to be a
mailinglist for Casio CZ User since I though that there aren't much
VZ user out there but after some time I've been asked if this can be
a home for VZ - User too and since I own a VZ-1 myself I expanded
this list without changing its name.
If you're programming sounds with your VZ you can share them if you
like by uploading them to the files section of this list...
I did a little programming tutorial that is far from ready, you can
download it from the same section if you're interested in...
Other than that you can tell the list a little bit about you, like
when you started making music, how long you're an VZ - User and what
kind of music you make...
Have fun!

Hi flotorian! I bought my VZ1 in the end of the 80ies but I don´t know exactly when. My music-style is a kind of mixed things like pop, elktro, industrial, a.s.o. I like to program "phatt" sawtooth-sounds with a kind of "pseudo" filters controlled by the bias of the envelope sensivity of almost each module. The weirdest sound I ever programmed on my VZ1 is a real(!) vocoding sound speaking my name! Now I´m going to update my Homepage. There will be a lot of VZ1 and other synth stuff! (´hope I´ll be ready next week!) so long www.radiomicky.de --- In CZsynth@y..., "Summa" <flotorian@f...> wrote: > Hi Radiomicky, > > wellcome to the list :) > > You found the right forum ;) I originally founded this group to be a > mailinglist for Casio CZ User since I though that there aren't much > VZ user out there but after some time I've been asked if this can be > a home for VZ - User too and since I own a VZ-1 myself I expanded > this list without changing its name. > If you're programming sounds with your VZ you can share them if you > like by uploading them to the files section of this list... > I did a little programming tutorial that is far from ready, you can > download it from the same section if you're interested in... > Other than that you can tell the list a little bit about you, like > when you started making music, how long you're an VZ - User and what > kind of music you make... > > Have fun! > Summa > > > On 12 Jun 2002 at 23:16, radiomicky wrote: > > > Hi, everyone! Welcome to the group radiomicky, I'm another VZ user too. You should upload that vocoder sound. I would love to hear that one. The VZ is capable of some amazing stuff but it's so hit or miss to program. Jon [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Hey, since the VZ subject is ongoing, I need to ask: Does anyone here own a copy of the "Power Play VZ" book by Steve De Furia? A guy I'm corresponding with in a separate VZ discussion group is about to begin scanning his copy of this old book, so its VZ programming tips can be shared online with all VZ users (the book is seemingly quite rare). If anyone here has a copy and is interested in joining the scanning project so that the work can be divided up and it can be completed more quickly, speak up now! I must confess to having a copy of a copy of the book but mine is in pretty bad shape an probably wouldn't copy well again. Just curious though, what other VZ discussion groups are out there? Jon

Its a fairly slow traffic discussion group/area, but I met the fellow through the Chat Page available here: http://www.steveandsally.freeserve.co.uk/casio/ -- Jeremy
