CZ-1 Display Contrast

CZ-1 Display Contrast

2016-09-23 by Dave Garfield

Hi, group! It's actually lack of contrast. Even with the internal contrast adjustment turned all the way up, the display is washed out and barely legible. Has anyone experienced this before, and could you give me a clue as to where to look? Maybe it goes no farther than a worn out LCD display... The backlight is fine - very bright.Does anyone know if there's an easy LED-backlit display that I could drop in? I'd LOVE to have the sharpness and legibility of an LED display. Thank youDave Garfield

Presuming that the cz1 features a normal 16x2 lcd which it appears that it does, I have a guide to replacing cz displays at:

http://templarseries.atspace.com/cz.html

This is for replacing the whole display with a new backlit one,
as opposed to replacing the backlight (which is not your problem anyhow).
Replacement is for lcd with led backlight.

Hi!
Just supposing, but could it be that the view angle of the display changed?
I would just try and change it slowly, in order to see if the contrast changes....
