has any of you Fz10, 10m users noticed that the Absynth virtual synth is fundementally very similar?? I have just recently started programming bpm/rhythmic type patches on my VZ10m and man.. its cool.. i am continually amazed.

The bpm/rhythmic type sound idea sounds cool but how do you time it? I always wished for some kind of translation from envelope time/level values to real values as I always had a very hard time programming stuff like that by ear. What approach do you take to it? Jon

well i havn't got it translated to an actual 'bpm'... just timing it internally.. I set the envelope time values to divisions of them selves.. example.. t1=99 t2=50 t3=99 t4=50 t5=99 t6=25 etc. interesting to note that the same number setting per envelope DON't really sync up with each module... weird eh? hm. but its pretty cool result regardless. --- In CZsynth@y..., "Furman, Jon W." <jfurman@t...> wrote: > The bpm/rhythmic type sound idea sounds cool but how do you time it? Yeah those kinds of sounds are fun to do but I always ran into trouble when I tried to synch them up to a sequencer. I try to adjust the tempo by ear to the sound but it always winds up deviating after a few beats. Too bad the VZ does have MIDI syncable LFO's or something, that would be cool.

that would be very cool. What I will probably end up doing is sampling those sounds and then just looping them.. --- In CZsynth@y..., "Furman, Jon W." <jfurman@t...> wrote: > Yeah those kinds of sounds are fun to do but I always ran into trouble when > I tried to synch them up to a sequencer. Hi, inspired by that question I\ufffdm working for years with a math-formula to calculate exactly the loop-samples for desired beats per minute (Bpm)! At first you have to know what frequenzy your sampler working with. I possess a Roland sampler S330 which works with 30.000Hz and 15.000Hz (In my formula I call it SR(Hz)). But my creation works with any kinds of values: (1.) Bpm ---- = Bsek 60 (2.) SR(Hz) ------ = SMLL/4 Bsek Note: "SMLL/4" is the sample measure-loop lenght (not a timeline!) of a quarter beat, so you have to multiply it with 4 when your song is written in 4/4 time measure!!! Greets MIKE that would be very cool.

What I will probably end up doing is sampling those sounds and
then just looping them..

--- In CZsynth@y..., "Furman, Jon W." <jfurman@t...> wrote:
> Yeah those kinds of sounds are fun to do but I always ran into
trouble when
> I tried to synch them up to a sequencer. Maybe you meant Z-1, or Prophet-10. We could spend years duscussing envelopes for a different machine :) Maxim
