Not that I've put a card reader in - but having tried to use the PC archivers with the FZ MIDI bulk dump,I should think using a card reader would be miles easier.

matt,i have read that the HxC floppy emulator works with the casio FZ-series samplers, but i have been too busy to try it on my fz20m. failing that, you might be able to get an external scsi drive enclosure and put in something very stable and proven like a microtech PCD-47b- though those are rare now and quite expensive thanks to their popularity in MPCs and other akai samplers. i have one in both my MPC2000XL and my S6000 and like them very much.here is a thread about the floppy emulator in the FZ http://www.torlus.com/floppy/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=408cheers from california to cornwall,magic_silver_box

Get a HxC emulator with HxCFloppyEmulator 2.0.22.0 and SCSI2SD for your Casio FZ-20M. This combo is working fine for me now. Changing the FDD in the FZ-20M is a bit of a pain, you need to get out allmost all PCBs, but it just work.
Version F of HxC can be directly mounted:
http://lotharek.pl/product.php?pid=121
SCSI2SD:
http://www.codesrc.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=SCSI2SD
You need a case plus power supply and SCSI 25 to 50 cable, no terminator needed.
- requires TERMPWR jumper to be set. On Casio the pin25 of the DB25 connector is "not connected" - I run witth "scsi2sd-config --apple" flag - size of SD card needs to be limited to 169378 blocks
You will get Blocks 01 - 40 to be used per SD card. Any old little 256 MB card from vintage cell phones will work. Your friends will love you, since they can dispose that stuff to you :-)
