Re: [Evolver] New Polyevolver user

2005-03-26 by Andrew McNaughton

I say the fellow who thought about going backto the regular evolver is
making a big mistake. Having the eight knobs isn't worth it to me. And
if tactile editing is a must, I say save a few more pennies and get the
keys version. Don't go back to single voice evolver just yet, play
with the editor.

Yeh I’ll persevere for a bit. That was an initial impression.I couldn’t believe how much I fiddled with the sequencer on the original Evolver...in front of the TV or whatever....I was very surprised. It wasn’t just the knobs...it was the whole layout....I just liked it.It seems to me that the real essence of the instrument is in the sequencer, not polyphony and playing chords etc.
I can hear much of the original Evolver in the Poly and questioned whether I can do without the extra notes.Question of money too.

Any thoughts on the headphone issue and intializing the unit?

Thanks
