I was thinking more of the mono evolver as a controller, not the front
panel of the rack -- should be more  or less possible, given that the
evolver can transmit all control movements.  What I'm wondering is
whether it's "more" or "less" (e.g., whether having to use the rack's
controls to manage various non-voice-editing tasks completely ruins
the experience or not).

I rather like the mono evolver's interface -- it's not really the 8
knobs (though they help), it's the way they and the buttons are are
positioned around a large friendly diagram.  Very intuitive really. 
With a larger display and a nicer shift-key setup I'd be happy as a
clam.

Of course the kb version looks like a dream come true...
