Re: [Evolver] Evolver trance sounds?

2006-03-28 by rgmccaig

Think 'smooth' 'thick' and or 'lush'.... perhaps 'sweet' in a way.
Think of a long evolving pad, or (especially) a sound that could play
a melodic arpeggio for a couple of minutes without sounding harsh or
boring. Also trance sounds must usually play well alongside a couple
of other synth sounds in the mix.

In comparison, synth sounds in electro are often more 'harsh' 'punchy'
'bassy' 'riffy' 'squelchy' or used as 'stabs'.

Not a trance expert,
Graeme
