Thanks for the reply. I was using patch 128 in the tests with poly mode
on. The PEK has gone back to the shop now and I am waiting for a
replacement.

If the sound is a 'unison' patch where all four voices are stacked, 
cubase maybe starting the sequencer which will 'steel' voice one on the 
PEK. Also, make sure that the cubase mixer is not sending a midi volumn 
command under 127.

Thats the only thing I could think of that could cause this.
