It would apply to the whole patch as you say. So for example if you wanted a 
similar patch but with 4 different sequences, then you would construct four 
separate identical patches and then edit their sequences to fit. In the 
wished for feature, when the evolver got a patch change message while the 
sequencer was on, it would wait to the end of the sequence and then switch 
over, keeping the sequencer on for the new patch. Of course you could change 
it to a patch that had both a different sound and sequence, etc, etc.
