It would apply to the whole patch as you say. So for example if you wanted a similar patch but with 4 different sequences, then you would construct four separate identical patches and then edit their sequences to fit. In the wished for feature, when the evolver got a patch change message while the sequencer was on, it would wait to the end of the sequence and then switch over, keeping the sequencer on for the new patch.
