I'm trying to understand what this upgrade gives us. You have visual indication of settings when editing (but not when calling up your stored patches) and the full control range is within one turn. That actually means less control resolution than the encoders in some cases. With pots you have to choose how they operate: either as soon as you move the pot the parameter JUMPS to the new value (good when programming) or NO CHANGE happens until the pot reaches the current value (good when performing). I have used synths that work like this and I personally find it annoying. Many people do not which is why DSI is offering a choice between pots and encoders although at considerable extra expense to them. Hopefully it is translating into increased sales.
