8 voices won't happen. 

Curtis chips provide the analog circuitry and the Evolver is stereo...2 filters  and VCAs per voice. The Prophet is mono, that's how DSI was able to cram the 8 voices in.

When you consider that the PER is gone and the move back to pots, I think DSI is responding to a market that keeps begging for straight up analog rather than the forward-thinking hybridization of the Evolver.
