Since I\ufffdm a hardware fetishist, I took the liberty to buy a big bottle of DeOxid for all my other boxes like troublesome Yamaha A series samplers well known for encoder issues. So far I also had good results from applying the fluid to the axis from top, i.e. just remove the knobs without disassembling the synth, then apply a drop or two so that it can run down the axis into the casing of the encoder.
