does anyone know how to fix the rotary encoder problem that most of the dsi synths suffer from? i heard about some sort of spray that might help. is there a previous post here that might describe the process? any insight on the matter would be much appreciated

Since I\ufffdm a hardware fetishist, I took the liberty to buy a big bottle of DeOxid for all my other boxes like troublesome Yamaha A series samplers well known for encoder issues. So far I also had good results from applying the fluid to the axis from top, i.e. just remove the knobs without disassembling the synth, then apply a drop or two so that it can run down the axis into the casing of the encoder. Would try that first just to save time.

Yes, the deoxidizer works great. It takes about an hour to open the synth apply the liquid to each knob and give the knob a twist. I would suggest contacting DSI directly, they will give you specific instructions and even send you the deoxidizer.

Hmm.. too bad. I got the same problem, though I did not try the deoxit. Thinking of upgrading to the pot edition, anyway. This will be fxxing expensive, but my pek will be even better then. And hold its value anyway :) --- In DSI_Evolver@yahoogroups.com, Philippe Nocq <philippe.nocq@...> wrote:

I recently applied the deoxit that DSI supplied to me (for free). It seems to have done the trick.Three weeks without the jitters. Now, only time will tell if this was a permanent fix or a temporary solution.... -Jim ________________________________ From: balinillo <barely@...> To: DSI_Evolver@yahoogroups.com Sent: Wed, October 6, 2010 3:02:24 PM Subject: Re: [DSI Synths] rotary encoder fix?
