Re: [DSI Synths] rotary encoder fix?

2010-09-11 by Philippe Nocq

I did it for two times now , it works few month and the encoders failed again for the second time ...
I wrote to Dave Smith Instrument to explain the problem and they answored to me that i had to send
the four cards back to the factory, they will replace them with new ones for 75 $ in fact i\u2019m out of warranty
They offer me to replace the encoders cards by potentiometers cards for about 300$

Yes, the deoxidizer works great. It takes about an hour to open the synth apply the liquid to each knob and give the knob a twist. I would suggest contacting DSI directly, they will give you specific instructions and even send you the deoxidizer.

does anyone know how to fix the rotary encoder problem that most of the dsi synths suffer from? i heard about some sort of spray that might help. is there a previous post here that might describe the process? any insight on the matter would be much appreciated
