Sayer - There is no internal "factory reset" feature to restore the presets. However, the factory presets are available in both SysEx and MIDI formats, and it is quite easy and quick to load them into the Evolver. The following thread at EX5Tech explains how to do it with SysEx files: Using MIDI-OX to Save & Load Evolver Patches http://www.ex5tech.com/ex5ubb_cgi/ultimatebb.cgi? ubb=get_topic&f=23&t=000013 (Note: If your email client or the Yahoo group splits the link above onto two lines, you may need to copy/paste the link into your browser address bar.) Thanks! The evolver does not seem to change the sequence with the patches even though the Seq Lock is set to off. Not that I have an Evolver or anything.... I'm just curious. :) Sayer

Sayer, you said, "The Evolver does not seem to change the sequence with the patches even though the Seq Lock is set to off." The Evolver saves sequence data in each patch (a.k.a program). With the "Lock Seq" function set to OFF, the Evolver operates normally, and (assuming a given patch contains sequence data - realize that not all of them do) it will play each patch's sequence as you would expect. Turning "Lock Seq" ON simply prevents the loading of new sequence data as you change patches, and essentially gives you a way to hear the same sequence played with many different sounds. You can also use this trick as a means to copy sequence data from one patch to another. Unless the Evolver - the one that you don't have, of course - has a problem, this is how it should operate. Yup... I ummmm understand all of this and dreamt that I read it in the manual... but the first many patches in bank #1 all seem to use the same sequence even though Sequence Lock is off. I have not had a chance to explore further, but it seems that maybe the sequences were overwritten by someone in this Evolver's previous life.... Of course this is all just hypothetical.... I'm waiting for a certain Dutch someone to see these posts and react! :) Sayer --- In DSI_Evolver@yahoogroups.com, "ski_ex5tech" <ex5tech@e...> wrote: > Sayer, you said, "The Evolver does not seem to change the sequence > with the patches even though the Seq Lock is set to off." > > The Evolver saves sequence data in each patch (a.k.a program). i mean..when switching patch(sound/seq) the beat gets interuppted..witch is not a good thing if you got evolver as master..thats why i cant have it as master. and if i have it as slave it dosent start/trig just sync at time..after reseting evolver to were i want it to start(after some well trained buttonpushes:) ive tryid some of the trigger options but the thing is that i made about 150patches with "all" mode to trigger..and when i changed they was ruined. maby i shouldent have made them in all mode in the first place right? peter __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? I just emailed Dave about something and mentionned this (again)
as my #1 request in the next OS. If there is no way to
change programs without resetting the sequencer, the Evo
is almost unusable Live. I feel it is the
most indispensable feature if you want to work in sync with
other midi units. Someone suggested to press shift
while changing programs. I think it's a good idea.
So this way we could you could also built complete songs
just by changing from one program to the next.
It such a basic feature that i can't believe Dave didnt
think about it considering his MIDI background. Hek, if
the Electribes can do it...
So Dave said it'Ss on his list and it will likely be implemented
in a "don't know went it'll be out" new OS.
I hope this was the subject here. If not, well now
you know how i feel about it ;)

But then I'm contrary.. 8) Well..... yes, of course. But I was afraid the unit was not working properly. So, once loaded it works properly. Now they can by unloaded...
