I set everything up right on my recorder, but when I pressed the record+play buttons to trigger the Evolver, the Evolver didn't start the sequencers. I don't see any MMC or MTC on the Evolver. Is it possible to sync to a recorder and have the Evolver start playing when you hit record? I can't figure this out. hmmm Nick

I was hoping someone could help me out with this. I can record something like my RM1X since it has MMC and MTC so my recorder can trigger it to start recording. But I can't get it to trigger the Evolver. I don't know what I'm missing. MTC would have no meaning to a step sequencer being an absolute time
code. You need to send the Evolver MIDI clock in order to sync it up.
Can your recorder send this (my Roland VS-880 can and it's pretty old
so you should be able to do it)?

When I hit the start/stop button on a device that's feeding the evolver midi clock sync, the evolver stops/starts as you might expect... -Miles -- Come now, if we were really planning to harm you, would we be waiting here, beside the path, in the very darkest part of the forest?

ye..sorry me to:) but i have to "find" the tempo with the reset button. is my broken??? i thought it was a bug!! scenario: i push start on my mpc that sends clock to evolver, evolver starts but the sequenser is "offbeat" but has the same bpm as the master(mpc) so to find the ticks..i use the resetbutton. ive tryid to use other sequenser-triggers on evolver but its the same.. IS MY BROKEN??? peter __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Calendar - Free online calendar with sync to Outlook(TM). http://calendar.yahoo.com

I don't think that your Evolver is defective. If you stop a sequence and restart the sequencer via an external start command it will not restart from the first step of a sequence but a the point where it had been stopped before. I don't know if that can be called bug or if it is a feature. In Cubase I can avoid this by sending a note together with the start comand. Then the sequencer starts at the beginning of the sequence. Not sure if this is of any help for you ;-) Regards Stefan ----- Original Message -----
